On November 28th, MobSquad’s President & COO Arif Khimani joined a panel discussion on CBC News: The National, where he weighed in on the hot topic, “Does Canada need to slow down immigration?” He shared his views on why immigration can and should be the answer to solving Canada’s housing and demographic crisis.
“Tech is a really good success story for Canada’s immigration policy. There are over a million people who now work in technology within our country. These are high-paying jobs, where these individuals contribute to the tax base and help fund the social services that we all need – healthcare, infrastructure, and education. If we choose to pause the number of immigrants that we are bringing in, we are rapidly going to age as a population, and the amount of people that will be using social services is going to be much higher than those contributing to the tax base.”
