MobSquad’s President & COO speaks on Canada’s cutting-edge immigration programs with CBC

Jan 18, 2024

MobSquad President & COO Arif Khimani appeared in Part 4 of CBC’s Unsettling, a radio series on immigration. He spoke about the interplay between the immigration system and the fight for global talent, one in which Canada has an advantage given our progressive and welcoming immigration policies.

“Canada has been very cutting-edge in its immigration programs to date…If you are an individual who meets all of the [Global Talent Stream] qualifications and one of those employers wants to hire you, you could realistically be in Canada within a month of having started the application process, which is very quick for any standard anywhere in the world.”

However, other countries are following suit.

“A lot of countries who are short of tech talent would be countries we are competing against. There have been recent strategies announced in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, the UK, and other European countries that are also short of this technology talent…and introducing [immigration] programs to [attract this talent].”
